As a way to promote healthcare careers in South Dakota, several organizations have sponsored a Healthcare Video Contest for high school students in the state. Prizes of $2,000 will be awarded in 2016. First prize is $1,000 to be split between the team and school. There are two runners-up prizes of $500 each to be split between the students ($250) and schools ($250), for a total of $2,000.
Entry details are now available for the 2016 Healthcare Video Contest. This year students are asked to produce a 26-second video promoting the career fields of Certified Nursing Assistants and/or Emergency Medical Technicians/Paramedics. Teams are to be no larger than 5 students.

The contest is sponsored by: SD Association of Healthcare Organizations, SD Healthcare Workforce Center, Yankton Rural AHEC and Midcontinent Communications. The winning video may appear on regional television as a public service announcement, which will be determined by the sponsors based on entries received.
