Certified Nursing Assistant training is available to students in participating schools of Avon, Bon Homme, Gayville-Volin, Irene-Wakonda, and Yankton. Ten students are currently enrolled in the course this second quarter. Applications will be accepted for consideration to be enrolled in the 2014-2015 third quarter class of 10 students.
If you have already applied for the second quarter and were not accepted, contact Yankton Rural AHEC for more information on applying for the third quarter. Call 605-655-1400 or email info@yrahec.org.
A 2014 Governor’s Career and Technical Education Grant funds this CNA Training.
Participants complete the training program in one quarter. Training consists of on-line learning modules, skills review, clinicals, and certification testing. The Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program meets the South Dakota Board of Nursing requirements for CNAs. CNAs work under the supervision of a registered nurse, LPN or other supervisory staff.
This CNA training will allow you to enter the healthcare field in a short time. You may start working as a CNA while you finish high school. Some technical or post-secondary healthcare education fields require CNA certification.
